WandaVision

Wandavision Main Title Sequence

Working with the talented folks at Perception I had the opportunity to design and animate the main title sequence for WandaVision, the series currently streaming on Disney+. This sequence was nominated for the 2021 Emmy for Outstanding Title Design.

Creative Director: John LePore - Creative Director: Doug Appleton - Lead Designer/Animator: Nick Woythaler - Designer/Animator: Alex Rupert - Designer: David Wave, Designer/Animator: Chris Szeto
Perception Co-Founders: Danny Gonzalez, Jeremy Lasky - Head of Operations: Kris Barone - Senior Producer: Eric Daly - Associate Producer: Peyton Goldfarb

Production techniques: 3D elements modeled, animated, and rendered in Cinema 4d + Redshift. All compositing done in After Effects.
To create this pixel world I set up a little system where an incoming video image is first broken into its red, green, and blue components. The split rgb data is then routed to its appropriate geometric location in the grid, where customized, hexagon shaped pixel geometry pulls and glows in its assigned r,g, or b value. Viewed from a distance, the full video image is reconstituted, but when close up, we can see a representation of each individual pixel.
